It is so hard to believe that we are at the 30 week mark. For those that don't know, identical twins are typically born between 34 to 36 weeks. They don't go much further than that due to them sharing a placenta and it can start to deteriorate. With that said, we are definitely shooting for the 36 week mark which would be around July 20th. Typically, if they are born prior to that, they will keep them in the hospital until they hit the 36 week mark. So please continue the prayers! The exception would be their birth weight which at the rate they are growing, we should be in good shape. They are both weighing in at around 3.5 pounds. So yes, I'm the size of someone having a singleton at full term and I still have 5 or 6 more weeks to go! Or you could just say I'm the size of a WHALE and feel a lot like one.
Apparently taking pictures when you have twins is not an easy task. As usual, one of ours didn't want to cooperate but she got one of their faces. The good news is that they are identical so the other one looks just like this one. HA! This is a 3-D shot so alot of the bubbly stuff is the placenta.
I'm feeling good and luckily have not inherited toxemia which was one of the biggest things we were worried about. I'm truly living the life of an expat wife! Massages every week and hanging by the pool. Unfortunately, I miss the camaraderie of friends and family so that is definitely an adjustment. I'm trying to focus on the fact that life is easy right now and just deal with the isolation since our world is about to get rocked! And I am sooooooooooooo looking forward to my sister and parents getting here for a long visit!! They should start arriving July 13th which is another reason we need these girls to stay baking in the oven!
By the way, I have had several people ask me what an "expat" means and it is short for expatriate which is a person residing in another country other than that of the person's legal residence. So we are American citizens living in Singapore but still hold our American citizenship. There is your lesson for the day.
I'm so glad everything is going so well. You are in my daily prayers and so are those two little angels your carrying. Couldn't tell much by the picture. I can't wait to see them. I'm sure they are going to look just like their Aunt Dede. Just beautiful and perfect in everyway. HA! Love and Miss you soooooo much! Keep up the blogs. Everyone loves hearing from you. I'll see you on Skype soon. Give Joe a kiss for me. Love you to pieces.
