CONGRATS TO MR. & MRS. HOGG!

It has been a bittersweet time as I can't believe that I had to miss my BCF's (as my nieces Jordan & Mackenzie say) wedding.  Cristl and I probably know more about each other than anyone else does in this world.  We always said we would win BIG on the Newlywed Game if they would let us play.  PLUS, I'm the one that introduced them!  I just want to make sure everyone knows that.  =]  Of course, she was the one that introduced me to Joe.  BUT this is not about me and all I can say is that I am so happy that Chad is part of our family.  Great guy, lucky guy and fantastic couple!!

I wish you guys the ultimate life and I know that you will continue to laugh with your whole body, love with your whole heart and live the most extraordinary life together.  I love you both and look forward to celebrating when I get there in a couple of months!!
Oh, and Rylee & Reghan can't wait for their slumber party at Aunt Cristl's & Uncle Chad's!  So glad you guys have a king size bed!!

Big girls now!

Mommy is FUNNY!
We made it to three months and we are all in one piece!  Whenever you talk to parents of twins, they always tell you that when you make it to six months, life will be so much easier so we are officially halfway there. Of course, I ran into a mom the other day with 12 year old twins and she said it is all a lie!!!!!! HA! And the more I think about it, how could six months be easier?  Crawling and soon walking.  At least now you can put them in the bouncy chair or swing and not have to worry about them sticking their finger in the electrical outlet.  Hmmmmmm... I guess we will see.

What I do know is that they are more fun to watch as they return your smiles, laugh and coo. And they are now on the 50% growth chart weighing in at 11.5 pounds so they are catching up. Well, at least I thought so until I just learned my new niece that is one month old weighs the same thing!!  Anyway, things are great and I'm already forgetting the days of fussiness and crying that tempted me to put them up for adoption. KIDDING!

So some of the things I have learned in my short period as a mom...
  1. Identical twins don't have anything identical about them... sleeping, eating, crying, moods, etc.
  2. Sleep and showers are not a natural human right but a privilege.
  3. Poop does become your world and a good BM can change the entire outlook of a day.
  4. Everyone thinks they have the right answers.  Listen to mother's instinct... if I would have then I probably would never have experienced the middle of the night poop shoot that I got from using the wrong formula.
  5. A nake baby is a weapon of mass destruction.  Always have that second diaper ready to go... unless you are Joe Peltier who has never had a diaper ready to go and lets them roll around naked and has yet to get squirted on.  So irritating.
  6. Wet paper towels do not work the same as a baby wipe.
  7. Don't squirt medicine in your babies mouth when they are screaming.  The horrible choking sound that comes from them is not a good feeling.
  8. Don't ask other parents for advice on crying, sleeping or fussiness.  They ALL claim they never had those issues and their baby was perfect.  They are all liars.
  9. Be weary of sticking your finger in a diaper to see if it is wet... enough said.
  10. The most important thing I have learned... there is nothing better than watching their peaceful faces when they are sleeping and then waking up and seeing those two happy smiles staring back at you!!!
So here is a look back at their short little lives.  Joe and I still find ourselves on a daily basis staring at them in disbelief that they are really ours. Seems so incredible after the years and tears of trying.  And as he always asks me, "can you believe we have two?"

Don't let the name fool ya...

So, as I mentioned in a previous post, I have hired a trainer to get me in shape and to make my 40's better than ever.  I searched a few places and finally came across Angel.  I figured how bad could she be with the name "angel".  Plus, I have worked with several big, huge, body builders back home so this could not be too bad.  She showed up and is this petite, cute girl with a great figure and kind of a laid back personality.  We started to work out so she could see what kind of shape I'm in and I believe she came to the quick conclusion that I'm in no shape as I have not worked out in about a year and just gave birth to twins.  And yes, I will continue using that as an excuse even though some would say I wasn't really in the best shape of my life when I got pregnant... but this is my blog and I can say what I want.  :-)

Anyway, angel is no angel and she is inflicting pain on me that might be worse than any of the big, bodybuilders that I have hired.  She loves squats and lunges and the first day I thought she was the devil as she made me do 60 of each (keep in mind that I haven't done one lick of exercise in a very, long time).  Now, after only two weeks, I think squats are great and I now know that she really is the devil.  As she has me doing some crazy exercise to build my core, she'll ask me, "does it hurt?"  "Um, I just told you that I have not exercised in a year and just had twins.. uh, yes, it hurts."  Well, who cares?!  Twenty more!  As I'm still on the search of the reason all the Asians here are so little, I'm really hoping this isn't it.

My goal is to be my best and to stay my best as I don't want to be the old, decrepid mother at my daughter's parents night when they hit school.  I'm guessing I'm past the whole MILF days but hopefully I'll at least make them proud that I'm their mom.  And hopefully to always make my husband proud to say I'm his wife!

My biggest supporters!
